The Very Hungry Caterpillar - I like / I don't like!

Hello boys and girls!

After playing with the Fruit Memory Game and finding all the words in the Food Word Search, you have learned the names of many things you can eat! But was the food yummy or yucky?

On the following activity, look at the girl's face and decide if she likes or doesn't like the caterpillar's food.

Have fun!

  1. Hello Elisabeth! I saw your blog and I realised that we worked on the same story "The very hungry Caterpillar". I really like all your activities because they are very complete and meaningful. Also, you have introduced ICT tools in an interactive and fun way. In addition, you enhance all skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) with the same importance.

Regarding your last post, it is interesting because you use pictures to make the information easier and to guide your students to what the girl likes and what she doesn't.

  2. Hello, I just visited your blog and I must admit that I liked it so much. To star I want to say that you connected very well one activity with another in order to work listening, speaking, and reading. It was a great idea to start introducing the caterpillar like a main character and to create the activities around it. I couldn’t see the activity “The fruits memory game” but that could be a problem with my computer. Personally I believe that you prepared a great activity for children so it is funny and the level is adapted for beginners. This kind of activities help them to enhance their pronunciation and let them know new words. In addiction you used different subjects such as food and numbers. Obviously the activity help them to keep up their motivation towards the learning and enjoy doing it.
Respect to the design I like colours that you chose and from my point of view the activity is appropriated in all senses.

  3. Hello Elisabeth,
I have to say that I like your blog very much.
Although all of your entries are very interesting, I have chosed this one because I think it is very fun for kids due to children must not only understand the activity, too they must understand the body language in the girl face.
In addition , there are images that help to understand new vocabulary. So, I think, this activity is very comprehensive.
Congratulations on your blog, and thank you for sharing it!

  4. Hi Elisabeth!

Well I have to say that your blog is very nice, I think the activities are very useful for helping kids learning and also the subject matter is very motivating.
They are going to learn lots of vocabulary about food and likes and dislikes. The image of the girl's face is very accurate so they can associate with her feelings. It's gonna be nice for them because they're going to get to know with some grammar construction. To sum up, it's a very complete exercise .

  6. Hi, Elisabeth

First of all, I want to congratulate yourself for the work you have done in this blog. I have to say that I agree with my classmates’ opinion. I think that the blog it is very well organized, the content chosen (colors, number, fruits…) it is presented in an appropriate and motivating way for our beginners. As Nacho has said, it’s is a good idea to choose a main character (in this case a caterpillar) and use it to create all the activities (In my school, at pre-school they always use different characters depending of the students’ age and they love them). I think that this enhances completely the children’s motivation. One thing that I liked a lot is that you have made relations between the concepts. To do a new activity you have some activities link where you can click on them to revise concepts if you want it. This way the learning becomes functional. To finalize I would like to say that the blog in general seems very attractive for the students: you have selected a great title and the colors are very nice. I think that children will have fun with the activities proposed while they are learning a lot.

  7. Congratulations on your blog!
All activities are dynamic and it are understood perfectly. You've shown your great skills to motivate and attract the attention of children. Many of your activities work topics on the daily life of children and that is very important because in this exercises Children shows more participatory and this knowledge are very useful for your routine because it can be applied directly. I think that children show confidence and wellness with your activities and they will teach parents what they do in class, also working from home and sharing time with the family.
You consider the application of multiple intelligences and I think it is absolutely necessary because I am partisan and advocate for globalized and meaningful education. The links work correctly. I have seen a lot of blogs and yours is my favorite.
    Bye!

I've been visiting your blog and I think you've done a good job, congratulations.
It's a great idea to start with a story, "The very hungry Caterpillar", and from that create activities, as well a connection between some activities and other looks.
As for activities, I think you are quite dynamic and fun and also are suitable for younger ages and have worked with several ICT.
Different abilities also work with your activities as speaking, listening, reading and writing.

    Congratulations on your blog.

  9. Hi Elisabeth :)
First of all, congratulations for all the work you have done for your blog. The idea of using a story for working different topics and contents is great! Through this story a lot of vocabulary can be taugh and learnt: colours, numbers, days of the week, food... So I personally believe that it is one of the most suitable stories for Preschool. All the activities you have included are useful for young learners, as you have posted attractive and suitable materials for these students. I specially like the design of the blog and the activities, because they have nice and attractive colours. Besides, through this blog there is the chance of learning new vocabulary and new contents in an interactive and motivating way, so I am sure your students will enjoy your lessons :)
